Belle's Town Dress

Grandma surprised Sprout with the new Beauty & the Beast movie the other day and she was so excited. She got to see it in the theater while I was in Japan (so I hadn't gotten to see it yet). Sprout went and got her gold ball gown and we sillily danced along with the ball room scene (I of course had to play the Beast) lol.
Well the next day we had to watch it again. Now I know I'm not the only mama that has had to watch every Disney movie about 100x the first few days of getting them on DVD... Right?? Yeah you know what I'm talking about.
So while watching it about the 3rd or 4th time (they all start to blur after a while, it could possibly been the 12th time and I wouldn't truly know) Sprout looks over and ask's "mommy? where's my blue Belle dress?"
So I "tore" myself away from the movie and scowered Pinterest for a pattern. I swear when the movie first came out in the theater my local Jo-Ann's had Simplicity patterns for both the gold ball gown and the blue town dress in adult and child sizes. But I wasn't sure I'd ever use the pattern so I didn't buy it *hangs head in shame* but now for the life of me I cannot find the town dress pattern anywhere!

By this point it was already 6pm and I really didn't want to drag Sprout out to the store. I looked through the material I had to make the dress for her and ended up just having to go off of pictures from the movie.

What I had wasn't exactly what Belle wore, but hey, I had a similar color scheme and that's all Sprout cared about.

I made my own pattern pieces and got to work, I even made her some long bloomers similar to Belle's. It's definitely not my best work, I do plan on getting more materials closer to what the dress truly looks like. But for now, this smile says what I made for her I awesome! and that is all that matters.

We forgot to put the bloomers on for the pictures cause she was so excited to have the dress.
