Paci Decor

I've been off from posting for a little while. Trying to focus on Mizz Lili and getting her into a good routine that will work for our semi chaotic household. *boy is it taking a lot out of me* but it's okay, the last few days have been working out nice.
So on what little down time I've had, I had a little nutty idea to crochet cute little things for Lili's pacifiers. I'm calling it Paci Decor. *haha*
Mizz Lili is a very odd little bird. She loves to feel things... I know your probably scratching your head thinking "what?, i don't get it"... what I mean is she will go out of her way to throw a big stink just to have you give her what she's fussing over just to see what it feels like & once she's touched it shes done. Unless she really likes it then she will hold on to it and play with it for a while. The other thing she does is with her Pacifiers. You can't just give her a pacifier, there must, * I repeat MUST be something attached to it* or she will not keep it.
So I came up with this...

I'm not big on pacifiers, she isn't either. She just likes to hold them more than really suck on one. Now that she's 4 months old she tends to gnaw on them every now and then too. So now with this one she will sit/ lay there and just feel the textures of the flower. It keeps her busy while she's laying in her bed or on her play mat. I'm thinking of making more but not to sure yet .... just need a few moer ideas on what to make before I do.

Wedding bells a ringing....

A co-worker/ friend of my mother-in-law is going to be getting married in August. Yay!. I felt very honored that she has asked me to make the flower girl dresses for her daughters to wear for her wedding. It's something I've never done before but I luRve a challenge. Plus I have 3 months to get it right. *^_^*

This is the idea for the dresses. Very simple, she doesn't want to go over extravagant. They are very cute. I have 3 to make.

She is also wanting a bow sash. That will take me a bit to figure out but hopefully I will make it look good.

The purple tie is one of the colors she is going to use as well as silver. They are having a bit of an issue getting the same purples so I'm going to try and get it as close as possible.

I'm also thinking about a lace overlay for the top part of the dresses to kind of match the tie. I'm still working on ideas & laying them all out. I'm going to the fabric store Friday to start getting materials & get down to business. *^_^*

Back into the Swing of things

Well I'm sure you've noticed that I've been gone for a few days. Yep no posts... *bad, bad, bad* (I'm scolding myself as I type). My husband has been off the last few weeks to do some bonding time with our baby girl and we've been working on getting her into a routine before he goes back since he works night shift. It's also comeing down to the last few weeks of school for my lil man. He will soon be a 3rd grader!... *wow! time sure flys*
But I'm back. I promise i will forwarn everyone next time before taking a little break. :)
Now, with that out of the way.... On to todays post!====>

I didn't get much sewing done the last few weeks, I have a few projects that I've started, but I just need the time to sit down and finish them.
My husbands cousin is graduating High Scool, *and we all know that can be expensive* so I was asked to make his invetations and take senior photos for him. So this past week, that's what I was working on. I delivered them today and I think everything came out really well. Our Aunt loved them. So that makes me happy.

I've also been asked to make flower girl dresses for a friends wedding in August. I'm a little nervous cause I've never made any before. But at least I've got time to work out kinks.

I will have new posts as I finish projects. Stay tuned....

iNSD yay digital crativity

Yes it is!. It is {inter}NATIONAL SCRAPBOOKING DAY!!! Woohoo!. Love it. Beings that I am not only a crafter but I am a Digi scrapper too. I have always been big on traditional scrapbooking and I still do it from time to time. Yep when I get the urges, I pull out all my stamps, scissors, pens, colorful papers and oodles of photos. **Hi, I'm Rachel, and I am a photo addict** I freely admit that.
I got into Digi scrapping about 6yrs ago. Now with that I found another addiction. I love the images that can be created doing it the Digital way *....akward...* They bring a whole new life to pictures that I never could imagine till I learned how to do it.
The designers that come up with all the kits are genius. I love them all. But there is one designer that I just absolutely LuRve!! Kristin Aagard.
Her kits are just gorgeous. If you followed my other blog Rae's Scraps (haven't posted there in a really long time ...sorry...) I raved about her all the time. I still do in fact. When I have friends that ask me where to get good digi kits from, she is the first designer I send them to. I have tons of her kits. I think I sell my sewing just to support my habit. Haha.
Here are some of my pages I've made with her kits:

Kit: On The Wind

My layout:

 Kit: Jailbird

My layout:

Kit: Pond Play
(no longer available)

Another designer I've been using recently is Emeto Designs designer Emilia Germanova's kits are adorable. I just bought her kit Ponies and bows.
Ponies and Bows
It's just perfect for my little girl. Here's the page I created using this kit. Can't wait to make more cute pages.

Right now After Five Designs is having a {inter}National Scrapbooking Day Sale! 40% off the entire store. I've all ready bought 5 kits between both designers!!. There's sooo many more kits I still want to get. But I know I must pace myself ( I might overload my laptop if I don't watch myself).

So get on over to After Five Designs and get your kits! You'll be glad you did. *^_^*

Photo a day in May Day 1

My cousin posted this on #instagram and so I thought this was a great idea for me to do since I've been taking so many pictures lately.
